What is Individual Health Insurance?
Insurance that is issued to an individual person is called Individual Health Insurance (also called ordinary insurance). This type of policy provides protection to a policyholder and/or his or her family; sometimes called personal insurance as distinct from group and blanket insurance.
An individual health insurance plan covers one person, or a family, on one plan. People who have quit their jobs or work at a company that does not offer (group) health insurance to their employees may want health coverage on an individual plan. |
